Displays for January 28 Event at Watermill
STONY BROOK, N.Y., January 7, 2008 - The delectable scenes at a chocolate and dessert-tasting event to benefit the Matt and Debra Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at Stony Brook University will be a dream come true for chocolate lovers. The fairy tale-themed "Sweet Dreams" takes place Monday, January 28, 2008, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Watermill Caterers in Smithtown. The evening event, the fifth annual, will feature the Cacao Noel Chocolate Exhibition.
Guests at Sweet Dreams will experience the Watermill's Chocolate Fountains, as well as various coffees, wines, hors d'oeuvres and a hot chocolate bar. Caviar sampling and an exquisite buffet of carving stations are also on the menu. Guests will be ushered into the Chocolate Extravaganza for the tasty display of elaborate Fairy Tale creations. Each display features tasting samples. At the end of the evening, guests will vote for their favorite dessert and chocolate creation. Prizes will be awarded to the top three chefs. Guests are also welcome to a "box to go" filled with their favorite samplings for only $20.
The creators of the event are Watermill chef Chris Singleman and April Griffin, who recently retired from Paris Gourmet. The Watermill and Paris Gourmet are co-sponsors. Individual tickets are $125, which includes entry to the chocolate exhibit and reception. Sponsorship packages are available and range from $500 to $5,000.
All proceeds from Sweet Dreams benefit the Cody Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, the regional resource for treatment, education, and community outreach for autism and related disabilities. To order tickets or to receive additional information, please call (631) 632-4466.
