Pediatric Patients Get Holiday Visit from NY Islanders
PEDIATRIC PATIENTS AT STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER
GET A HOLIDAY VISIT FROM THE NY ISLANDERS
11 year-old brother Jimmy on the bed), at Stony Brook University Medical Center, had a special visit from three New York Islanders who delivered a "Nurf Longshot" and some holiday cheer to Jason during his hospital stay.
Pictured with Jason and Jimmy are from left, their brother Joey, 15, sister Jessica, 18, their father and mother, Joe and Karen, and Jimmy's friend and teammate, Sean Heffernan. It was a special treat for the Dieppas, because Karen is a hockey mom, Joe coaches the team, and the boys all started playing at a young age. That's why when they heard that 6'8", 258 lb. left wing Mitch Fritz (#49); 6'., 180 lb. goalie, Yann Danis (#34); and 6'4", 210 lb. right wing, Tim Jackman (#28) were coming for a visit, they were totally prepared.
The Islanders spent two hours on Wednesday, going room to room dropping off gifts and visiting with more than 35 patients in the Pediatric Oncology, Pediatric Acute, and Pediatric Intensive Care Units at Stony Brook University Medical Center.
